    Yankees & Red Sox Curse… 2008 Edition?

    By Plan B | April 15, 2008

Now I know some people take their sports very seriously. Shoot I know I do. But I think there are times when the word “Fan” just doesn’t seem to sum it up and people truly cross over into the realm of what can truly be called a “FANATIC”. Even if you don’t follow sports regularly, you must have heard about the great rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. They are two of the oldest teams in Major League Baseball. They also have one of the longest and most famous rivalries in all of professional sports.

Well it seems that this coupled with the true fanaticism of a Red Sox fan caused things to get crazy in NYC yesterday. You see there was this curse against the Red Sox for like a hundred years because they had traded Babe Ruth, the Great Bamabino away to the Yankees. This curse caused the Redsox to endure a century worth of pain and agony. They were never able to win the big one the World Series. Well this Red Sox fan who is also a construction worker on the new Yankees stadium decided he was gonna bury the jersey of David Ortiz #34.

Now it took workers 5 Hours to remove this jersey. Remember it was in the foundation. But most note worthy is that it was done at a cost of about $50,000. That is a lot of money to dig up a jersey! But I guess it’s better to spend that money than not win a championship for like an entire century. The Bosox fans now that pain all too well.

Well, I guess they can put the Jersey on Ebay and get their 50 grand back?
